Harvest Theatre Announces Submission Guidelines for One Page International Play Festival (Holiday Edition)

Posted Jul 27th, 2007 by Bill Quinlan  Category: Arts & Entertainment

Due to the resounding success of its “One Page International Play Festival” at last year’s Artomatic 419 festival of the arts, the Harvest Theatre of Toledo is seeking original play submissions for its “One Page International Play Festival (Holiday Edition)” to be performed as part of its regular season in rotating repertory with “Penny Penniworth” by Chris Weikel in the latter part of December, 2007.

Plays must be no longer than one page in length, double-spaced, on any topic of the author’s choosing having to do with the December/January holiday season (i.e. Christmas, Hanakkuh, Kwaanza, New Year, Solstice, etc.) While monologues will be considered, preference will be given to plays with more than one character. 4 characters maximum per play. Authors may submit as many plays as they like. A committee of Harvest Theatre play-readers will choose the plays to be performed. A small honorarium will be awarded to plays we choose to be performed as part of our production.

In addition – we are adding a music element this year! We are accepting original holiday songs as well for production in our “One Page Play Fest”. Songs may be longer than one page! While we would love to discover the next “White Christmas” or “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, we would be just as happy with “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer”.

Deadline for submissions is September 10th, 2007. One Page Guidelines can be found at www.harvesttheatre.com under the heading “One Page Play”. Please submit plays to:
