LAKESIDE, Ohio – July 27, 2007 -Rand McNally has highlighted The Hotel Lakeside as a “can’t miss spot” in the Midwest, and Lakeside’s 29th Annual Ice Cream Social is the Hotel’s “can’t miss event” of this season! It will be held August 5th from 2:00-4:30 p.m. on the Hotel porch and lawn.
Enjoy delicious cake and ice cream, listen to the wonderful Genoa American Legion band and participate in a silent auction, where this year Barby Bright’s original watercolor will be featured along with many other wonderful items. Try your luck at winning a decorated cake or stuffed animal at the cake/zoo walk and take a horse-drawn carriage ride around Lakeside! Free children\’s games will be held at the pavilion, and clowns will stroll the area.
Avoid waiting in line to buy tickets! Advance ticket sales for the Social will be held at Hoover Auditorium Saturday evening, August 4th, and at the Hotel Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m. (and throughout the event.) The low ticket price of $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children 10 and under includes a serving of hand-dipped ice cream, home-made cake, and beverage.
The Social is sponsored by the Friends of the Hotel Lakeside with proceeds used to help refurbish and decorate the Hotel and its rooms. Look for the spotted balloons, and join us at the Hotel for a wonderful, fun afternoon–rain or shine!
