September 9, 2007

The Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 50th annual Arts Festival on September 9, 2007 at its new location at Lourdes College, 6832 Convent Blvd. Sylvania, Ohio. The festival, one of the largest one-day events in the country will be held from 9:30 AM until 4:00 PM and features over 250 juried arts and craft artisans from all over the United States. The Art Festival began in 1957 and has been the major funding source for the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce. The funds raised are used for community and business programs that the chamber offers in the Sylvania area. This year’s festival is a partnership between the chamber, the Sisters of St. Francis and Lourdes College to highlight the excellent Arts Programs at Lourdes College. Presenting sponsors include The Toledo Blade, 5/3 Bank and Buckeye Cablesystem.

The juried festival awards best of show winners in the categories of fine arts and crafts and the high quality exhibitions and accessible parking make the arts festival the highlight of the fall season. Admission to this year’s festival is $2.00. Free parking and shuttle service will be available at school lots on Silica Road including Northview High School and the Burnham Building. Additional parking sites include Harroun Park and downtown Sylvania. Shuttle Service will be available to the show site.

The exhibit will be open to the public at the Franciscan Center at Lourdes College from September 4-7.
