By now everyone has heard of Speed Dating…that torturous 6 minutes across from a member of the opposite sex, formulating questions in your mind to ask as you casually try to answer those asked of you. Dry mouth, sweaty palms, churning stomach! Does she like me, do I sound intelligent, will he want to meet me again??? All that for a mere $40 and it doesn’t include alcohol?..
Oh yeah sign me up!!!!
In theory, it sounds great, in reality, not for the masses. So what the heck is Stube Dating you wonder???
Stube Dating is a weekly event with an alternating format between Speed Dating, The Dating Game and a few other surprises up my sleeve!
Do I have your attention?? Allow me to explain one event a bit further. Speed Dating works like this: I come up with the questions, you provide the answers. Who asks them? Well when you arrive, if you choose to participate, you will be given a number (men are odd, women are even ~ naturally) then when the round begins, I draw the numbers from the respective hats, you come front and center, sit at the Q & A Table and I hand you the question to ask the person opposite you. At which point you will read the question aloud (into the microphone) and your speedy pick has to respond (into the microphone).
I might add that the questions are, for the most part, questions that you would want to ask but wouldn’t as they would be inappropriate, off color or there is no way in a million years you would muster up the nerve to ask it! If off-color humor bothers you, you may just want to gawk….lol
Speaking of gawking, gawking is permitted, as a matter of fact, it’s encouraged! See the premise behind Stube Dating is not to test the fates on whether or not the person across from you is “The ONE” but more so to gather a group of like individuals together in one location with a common purpose. You share some laughs, have a couple of cocktails and have a great time. Then who knows??
The beauty behind Stube Dating is, there is no cost to participate, beers are not $5 with cocktails running $8…. no cover charge, no need to dress to the nines for the upscale venue (hey it\’s the Stube!), no commitment, heck it\’s a no brainer!!!
Stube Dating starts on Monday, September 10th for those singles between 21 and 29 years of age. We will begin at 6:30 pm. Reservations are not needed.
On Tuesday, September 11th, we will start at 6:30 pm for those singles 30 – 39 years of age and then at 8:00 pm for those 40 years of age and older.
Hey if you are dating someone or are married, good for you, but then do your single friends a favor and pass this info along!
