CITIFEST INC. IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS TO VOLUNTEER FOR THE 2007
DOWNTOWN HOLIDAY PARADE

Toledo, OH…Preparations for the Downtown Holiday Parade are underway and CitiFest is accepting applications for volunteers. The Annual Holiday Parade will march the streets of downtown Toledo for the 20th year on November 24, 2007 at 11 a.m.

“This is the 20th year for the Downtown Holiday Parade and it gets bigger and better every year.” Says Julie Champa, Executive Director. Each year, over 500 volunteers assist in the festive parade with variety of parade responsibilities. Balloon Handlers, Route Marshals, Pooper-Scoopers, Mascot-Guides, Banner Carriers and Hospitality Attendants are some of the many opportunities available.

The parade route is lined with over 35,000 individuals each year and this year the parade will be comprised of over 50 specialty, equestrian, helium balloon and marching band units. It is no wonder why it takes the commitment of hundreds of dedicated volunteers from the community to produce an event the size and scope of the Holiday Parade.

Volunteers need to be at least 16 years of age. All volunteers will receive a free sweatshirt and be guaranteed a great, festive and fun filled time! To get involved contact the CitiFest volunteer hotline at (419) 249-4087 or download an application on-line at www.CitiFest.org and e-mail, fax or mail it in.

CitiFest is a private 501 C-3 non-profit organization that draws more than 500,000 people to downtown Toledo every year. For more information regarding CitiFest events, visit www.CitiFest.org or call 419-249-4090.

The deadline to submit a volunteer application is November 1, 2007.
