David Rovics is an outspoken political singer/songwriter who tours all over North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Japan and occasionally elsewhere performing hundreds of shows a year.
“David Rovics says the things about America that everyone else is thinking”. - Attila the Stockbroker. Rovics and his songs have been featured on various national radio programs. Rovics has shared the stage with Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn (intellectuals), Amy Goodman, Medea Benjamin, Desmond Tutu, Ward Churchill and Ralph Nadar (Activists), Dennis Kucinich, George Galloway, Cynthia McKinney Barbara Lee (politicians), Billy Bragg, Jello Biafra, Dead Prez, Pete Seeger, Bruce Cockburn, Steve Earle and the Indigo Girls (musicians), Danny Glover, Susan Sarandon and Martin Sheen (celebrities), and Michael Moore (director/producer) to name a few.
David Rovics has released 9 CD’s and scheduled to put out a new live CD, ” The Commons” in October. Another project still in the works, Rovics has written 22 kids “pirate” songs and plans to record them to a children’s songs CD.

Amy Goodman has called him “the musical version of Democracy Now!” From a review in 2006:

David Rovics: in the service of the movement
by Guy Smallman
On the one side is the fighter jet; on the other is the stone,
One the one side is the slave, one the other is the throne.
Caterpillars maul streets, destroy whole city blocks,
While children swallow shrapnel, for the crime of throwing rocks.
“These words, from the song Occupation, are probably not what you would expect to hear from a Jewish American from Republican Connecticut. But David Rovics is no ordinary folk artist.
Banned by most mainstream US radio stations, David has carved out a niche in the folk scene since the mid-1990s.
Most of his material is based on stripped down acoustic guitar plus searing vocals.
I would challenge anyone to find a more talented or hard hitting lyricist.
Writing a song from the perspective of a 9/11 hijacker takes serious balls in a country where you can be arrested for wearing an anti Bush T-shirt . . .
As well as casting his critical eye over current affairs, Rovics is a master at drawing attention to great struggles throughout history. The Battle of Blair Mountain tells the story of the bitter fight between miners and bosses in 1920s West Virginia. Hiroshima, Pinochet and the Korean war also get the Rovics treatment.”
David’s touring with Attila the Stockbroker, punk rock poet and musician from Brighton, England, who only makes it to the US occasionally, so let’s bring it on!

In Attila’s own words: “I don’t mess about. I’ve got lots to say, and I’m out there saying it. To those whining head-in-the-sand types who moan ‘politics has got nothing to do with music’ I have one response. ‘Politics’ affects the lives of every single person on this planet. Music and words, when combined effectively, can do the same and can inspire people to take control of their lives for the better. That’s where I start from . . . My themes are topical, my words hard-hitting, my politics unashamedly radical, but I aim to make you roar with laughter as well as seethe with anger……”

Attila formed his band, Barnstormer in 1994 combining medieval music and punk with him playing his violin and several different medieval instruments. Barnstormer still gigs around the globe alongside Attila’s solo shows.
Attila has put out 15 albums in 5 countries and four books of poetry.
Attila had just released in August a live recording CD, “Live in Norway”.
