Frogtown Storytellers Tell Tall Tales Nov. 9!

Posted Oct 31st, 2007 by Pat Lora  Category: Arts & Entertainment, Toledo.com

Toledo’s Frogtown Storytelling Guild celebrates the grand art of storytelling with its 7th annual Tellabration! on Friday evening, November 9th at the Maumee Indoor Theater. Northwest Ohio storytellers will gather to share funny, sad, frightening, real and imagined stories loved by people around the world. Michigan’s much loved musician-storyteller, Karen Czarnik, is the evening’s featured teller; she promises to delight the Tellabration! night audience with “something whimsical and something thoughtful and something to “tickle the funny bone.””

Ms. Czarnik, singer, songwriter and storyteller, often tells her stories with the accompaniment of her autoharp. Karen’s background is in performing arts, youth theater and music—and she uses all these as she weaves tales for audiences across the Midwest. For Tellabration! she will tell a story of her own creation about a generous heart and another original story of a parent’s lament of a young child’s rising early on a Saturday morning.
Sharing the Tellabration! spotlight with Karen Czarnik are several local storytellers from Toledo’s Frogtown Storytelling Guild. “We have a terrific line up of storytellers who are sharing their talent in support of this special storytelling event,” says Condessa Croninger, spokesperson for the Frogtown Storytelling Guild. There will be something for everyone.” Joining in this special night of stories will be local tellers: Linda Kerul, Michael Moore, Pat Lora, Tari Miller, Condessa Croninger, Odessa Rowan, Sheila Painter, Tim Kreps, and Antoine Kabwasa. And Tim Reichard,.

Tellabration! is sponsored locally by the Toledo Frogtown Storytelling Guild. This special evening of stories for grown ups will begin at 7:00pm. It will be held at the Maumee Indoor Theater, 601 Conant Street. Tickets are $7.00; they will be available at the door or from Frogtown members.
