FREMONT HOLIDAY DELIGHTS OPEN EVERY NIGHT IN DECEMBER
This holiday season imagine seeing over one million Christmas lights in one place and never having to leave the warmth of your own car. It can be a reality every night in December at Fremont Holiday DeLights located at Rodger Young Park in Fremont, Ohio. This one mile paved path features holiday displays that highlight everything you love about the holiday season. The bright lights feature fun and festive scenes that the whole family can enjoy.
Angie Morelock, Director of Downtown Fremont, the organization who sponsors the event believes this years display is better than ever. “This is our fifth year and we have added additional displays,” said Morelock. “We hope everyone makes it a part of their annual holiday tradition.”
The event is open every night in December. The hours are 6-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 6 – 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It only costs $8.00 per car. There are $2.00 discount tickets available at the Fremont Federal Credit Union in Fremont. Every Monday night is family night with a discounted rate of $5.00 per car.
“We have tremendous support from the community for this event. We rely on over 200 volunteers to help us set up and staff the event.” said Morelock.
Morelock said that is takes three weeks to set up for the event and over 2 miles of extension cords are used to light the more than one million light bulbs in the displays.
It is easy to find Holiday DeLights. If you are traveling from the east or west on the Ohio Turnpike, use Exit 91, follow SR 53 South, turn East on North St. and South on Front Street. From SR 20 East or West, follow SR 20 (State St.) to Front St. and Turn South on Front St. Once you are on Front Street, drive through beautiful Downtown Fremont to the entrance of Holiday DeLights.
