The Jump Off National Youth Conference 08

Posted Nov 28th, 2007 by Calvin Sweeney  Category: Arts & Entertainment

A three-day youth and young adult conference that will include dynamic worship, relevant workshops and time for fellowship with other Christian youth from around the nation. All are welcome to join us for this awesome event. Featured guess this year will be National recording Artists Flame and the Ambassador of CrossMovement Records. Also, Seth Franco of the Harlem Globtrotters.

Flame, a.k.a. Marcus T. Williams-Gray, was born in the inner city streets of St. Louis, Missouri where he was influenced by the Hip-Hop culture. His best friend (his grandmother) was a significant person who helped shaped him – teaching him about life and more importantly, Christianity.
Involved in ministry for more than 10 years, the Dove Award nominee and 2008 Holy Hip Hop Award Honoree is currently completing his degree in Biblical Studies in Louisville at Boyce College. Preaching nationally at churches, events and conferences ‘Our World: Fallen’ is receiving great raves and reviews from fans and critics, alike, who can not wait for the counterpart of ‘Fallen’… ‘Our World: Redeemed.’

William “Duce” Branch a.k.a. “The Ambassador” is a co-founder and primary spokesperson for the nationally known Christian rap group The Cross Movement which is currently signed with Cross Movement Records (CMR). He is also co-pastor of an inner city church plant (Epiphany Fellowship) being launched in North Philadelphia, Pa, USA. Duce also served for several years as the president of the non-profit organization Cross Movement Ministries.

Duce has ministered the Gospel through rap and preaching for nearly fifteen (15) years seeking to be a model and a messenger of the gospel’s transforming power especially (but not exclusively) among the hip-hop generations. With a passionate commitment to the kingdom of Christ as well as a firm belief that faith must integrate with culture, Duce has become known for his devotion to proclaiming Jesus Christ to urban contexts, and through urban mediums.

He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Bible from Lancaster Bible College as well as a Masters degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). His master’s thesis, Theological Implications of Hip-Hop Culture served as the inspiration for his latest Christian rap audio cd, The Thesis, and laid a much needed foundation for his current ministry campaign—“hip hop missions.” Duce is married to Michelle and they have four children together.
