Toledo, Ohio, November 28, 2007 – A warehouse atmosphere. Walls adorned with visual creativity and a celebration of commitment and vision.
That’s the vision of local technology company, Avatar Syndicate.
The public gallery opening, located at 1301 North Summit Street, will take place on Friday, November 30 from 6pm until midnight. Hors d’oeuvres, complimentary beverages, a video lounge, and a jazz duo will be among some of the night’s festivities. The event is a unique way to celebrate Avatar Syndicate’s commitment to Toledo and its community.
“Avatar is committed to Toledo, to its business community and its quality of life. We are not only business owners, we are residents as well. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Avatar’s ten-year anniversary than to share our love of community and art.”
Kristin Kiser, President, Avatar Syndicate, collaborated with local artists, United North, Toledo Choose Local, and Madhouse Creative to create “Unshow Ten” – the unconventional gallery that uncovers the talent of local artists.
“Toledo harbors extensive creative talent,” says Kiser. “The Unshow celebrates local artists and brings the downtown community together to further encourage the growth of Toledo’s art culture.”
The Unshow gallery will display artwork of all visual mediums, including painting, glass, photography and printmaking. Michael J. Paulus, Emily VanWormer, Amy Seiffert, Steve Mockensturm, Andrea Clarkson, Salvatore Schiciano, Mary Ellen Graham, Sean Morrissey, Jay Lacourse, Steven J. Athanas are the featured local artists.
“This is a labor of love for all of the parties involved,” continues Kiser. “Art not only emphasizes a city’s originality, but supporting our artists will help our city become an elegant one.”
Ninety percent of all sales will go directly to the artists. The remaining ten percent will be utilized to produce the next Unshow, which plans to be an ongoing event.
