Sunday, January 27th at 5pm The Black Swamp Blues Society will host a Memphis Send Off Party for this year’s contest winners, The Chris Shutters Band and soloist Patrick Lewandowski, at The Blue Devil. Live music by Josh Boyd and the VIP Band, Bobby May (w/ Pat as 2 Big Guitars), Rod Graf, Tina Lee & Random Blues, Mudfoot, Simon Carter, Frostbite and others. Raffles and giveaways all night long. Blue Devil is located at 938 W. Laskey Road at Lewis. $5 donation at the door.
The 2008 International Blues Challenge –The World’s Largest Gathering of Blues Bands takes place in Memphis, Tennessee January 31-February 2nd. The competition will feature a record 159 acts from 36 states and 10 countries and 6 continents with 99 competing in the band division and 60 in the solo/duo contest. The winners receive cash prizes, professional services and appearances at top Blues festivals.
