The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is proud to present an amazing exhibit and appearance by the award-winning children’s book author and illustrator Will Hillenbrand.

Hillenbrand, of Cincinnati, is scheduled to make a personal appearance from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 at Main Library, 325 Michigan St., to celebrate the Grand Opening of his exhibit in the second floor gallery. Hillenbrand will speak and sign books, and children’s activities are planned featuring crafts based on his books. During his appearance, books will be available for purchase courtesy of Reading Railroad: A Children’s Bookstore.

Hillenbrand’s exhibit is scheduled Saturday, March 1 through Saturday, April 26. The exhibit is free and open to all ages. Two of Hillenbrand’s illustrations have been purchased by the Library to include in the Robert L. and Posy Huebner Collection, over 100 children’s literature illustrations on display in Children’s Library at Main.

The exhibit is based on the work of the author/illustrator and will feature some 40 original illustrations in his exuberant mixed media including the whimsical Counting Crocodiles, The Biggest Best Snowman, and the vibrant The One and Only Declaration of Independence. Teachers may call 419.259.5231 to schedule special tours.
