Metzgers Printing + Mailing has successfully completed Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody certification contributing to responsible forestry practices. FSC is widely recognized as maintaining the most comprehensive and highest set of standards regarding responsible management and use of forests and forest products.
Forest Stewardship Council certification establishes a chain of custody to certify that paper and other wood products come from forests adhering to strict environmental and socioeconomic standards. FSC certified companies complete a rigorous examination of procurement procedures to guarantee products originated in well-managed forests. “FSC certification serves as a promise to our customers that Metzgers is committed and responsive to our planet’s environmental concerns,” said Metzgers CEO & COO Tom Metzger. “It allows us to support responsible forest management and offer our customers the unique assurances that come along with these FSC programs.”
Metzgers Printing + Mailing is the first Northwest Ohio based printer to achieve this international certification.
For many years, Metzgers has implemented a stringent recycling program for paper and metals. The company has been committed to the reduction of toxic and harmful chemicals within the prepress and printing process and is in the final stages of an energy audit & consumption reduction program. This year, Metzgers will complete a carbon footprint of their printing processes and of both facilities.
