Advertising Club of Toledo member agencies Madhouse, North and Thread Information Design won 6 awards in the recent 5th District ADDY Show judging in Cincinnati, Ohio.

North won a Gold ADDY for their Sochi 2014 Olympic Bid package. Silver ADDYs went to Thread for “Flip It”, a Marketing Collateral piece for Thread, and three awards in Poster Design went to Madhouse for “Battles”, The Blind Pig; “Treehouse”, Madhouse; and “Red Sparowes”, The Grog Shop. Madhouse also won a Silver in CD Packaging for “The Trumpet Child”, Over the Rhine.

Advertisers in the Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia areas piled up 35 Gold Awards and 50 Silvers in the judging — each Gold will have a shot at a national ADDY Award in June at the National American Advertising Federation ADDY show – the world’s largest advertising creative show.

“The judges were very impressed with the great creativity and quality of the work across all the categories” said Monika Roberts, Second Lieutenant Governor, AAF District 5 & District ADDY Chair, who oversaw the District judging.

The three judges, by rule not from the district, included George Bairaktaris from Tubatomic in Chattanooga, TN, Edward Engel from Engel Creative in St. Louis, MO and Matt Harlow from Perry Ballard in St. Joseph, MI. They judged over 600 entries in 75+ categories from ten cities in the three-state area. All of the entries had won on the local level.

The national ADDY awards will be held this year at the national conference in Atlanta, Georgia, where 1000+ advertising practitioners are expected to convene in early June.
