In HISTORIC LYME VILLAGE’s pastoral setting, experience the satisfying feeling of creating a craft of yesteryear at this summer’s Craft Workshops.

Class sizes are limited ~ Register early. Registration and fees are due two weeks prior to workshop date. Projects are on display at Visitor Center.

FEATHER TREE Made from dyed goose and turkey feathers attached to wire branches, feather trees were developed in Germany and brought to America by immigrants. Make an 18” green goose feather tree with Dennis Bauer. (Bring white glue and scissors.)

CUTTING QUILT PIECES Learn to cut out blocks for quilt patterns with
Mary Dong.

HAND QUILTING Piece and tie-quilt a handbag with Mary Dong.

BEGINNING CROCHET Learn the beginning stitches of crochet and make a dishcloth with Katie Farr. (Bring size J crochet hook and skein of 4 ply cotton knitting yarn.)

Make a ROUND textured BASKET (bun). Made with different sizes and styles of reed, the beauty will be in the texture. Instructor – Mary Brook.

Weave a BASKET TOTE with shaker tape handles – large enough to carry knitting needles and work. Instructor – Mary Brook.

HAIRPIN LACE Katie Farr will show you how to make a scarf. Lace frames and crochet hook will be provided to use. (Bring a skein of knitting yarn – sportweight or 4 ply.)

Historic Lyme Village Assoc. is an independent, non-profit, volunteer historical and educational organization dedicated to preserving the history of this area. Support comes from memberships, admissions, donations, gift shop sales, and projects of association members and friends. Membership is open to anyone interested in historical preservation.
