Fremont, Ohio, August 4, 2008- A 6 foot tall ketchup bottle, made up of 250 red 14 oz. plastic bottles, 98 plastic caps, 24 Heinz labels and 100 Heinz ties reigns as the winner of the first ever Creative Construction Contest. However, on August 16th, the title will be up for grabs when the 2nd Annual Creative Construction Contest gets underway. This years contest is being sponsored by Croghan Colonial Bank.

Once again this year, local businesses and industries were asked to compete to see who could build the most spectacular structure using little more than the product they sell, the packaging for their product or an item related to their business. Ten area businesses have stepped up to the plate for this second annual event and will be creating structures for everyone to enjoy. Participants include Automatic Fire Protection, Curwood, Fremont Company, Green Bay Packaging, Heinz, Otto & Urban, Rexam, Root’s Poultry & Wellys Sauces, The Open Book, and Tireman Auto Service Center.

Beginning Saturday, August 16 at 9:00 a.m., in conjunction with the monthly Ralph’s Joy of Living Farmer’s Market, you are invited to come down and see these one-of-a-kind pieces of art. You’ll be able to vote for your favorite and be entered in a drawing to win a $50 Downtown Fremont Gift Certificate, presented by Croghan Colonial Bank. The structures will be displayed in various Downtown Fremont businesses from August 16 through 12:00 p.m. on August 25, 2008.

Angie Morelock, Director of Downtown Fremont, is excited about hosting the event again this year. “We were simply amazed at the entries in 2007 and can’t wait to see what the participants come up with this year. Thanks to our sponsor, Croghan Colonial Bank, this event will once again give local business and industry a chance at promoting themselves in such a fun and memorable way.”

Plan on visiting Downtown Fremont between August 16th and August 25th to cast your vote for your favorite creation and be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $50 Downtown Fremont gift certificate.
