PERRYSBURG, OHIO – On Wednesday, December 10 and Thursday, December 11, Ballas Buick-GMC will host an art exhibit of Ted McLaren’s paintings, which marks the first art tour of its kind at an auto dealership. The exhibit will include 16 of McLaren’s award-winning paintings of classic cars, including a ’64½ Mustang Convertible, a couple GTOs and several Cadillacs. The event will take place 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10 and 9 am-9 pm on Thursday, December 11 at the Ballas Buick-GMC showroom on 5715 W. Central Avenue, Toledo. The public is invited to two Meet the Artist receptions which will be held from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, December 10 and from 6-9 pm on Thursday, December 11.

“When Ted’s people proposed the idea of mingling classic car art with in a showroom for new cars, I couldn’t resist,” notes Marianne Ballas, president Ballas Buick-GMC. “Ted’s bright, large scale paintings have a way of drawing people in. For us it’s a great way to take our clients and the general public down memory lane, as well as introduce them to the latest Buicks which are destined to become classics.”

On November 24, McLaren is invited by the Henry Ford Museum for a private trunk show for members of the museum. Ted will unveil a painting of the Model T Ford at the event commemorating the historic car’s 100th birthday.

Toys for Tots Connecting Point
In addition to the art exhibit, Ballas Buick-GMC will be hosting a Toys for Tots campaign for the U.S. Marine Corps. People are encouraged to bring along a new, unwrapped toy for a needy girl or boy. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
