1) Toledo’s Biggest One-Stop New Car Showroom:
See 200 cars at Toledo Auto Show Jan. 22-25

Check out nearly 200 cars under one roof, with no pressure to buy, and enjoy fun activities for the entire family, at the 2009 Greater Toledo Auto Show, January 22-25 at the SeaGate Convention Centre.

“This is your once-a-year opportunity to come to a central location to check out cars from more than 30 automobile dealers,” said Nikki Bragg, of the Toledo Auto Dealers Association. “We bring the cars to you so you don’t have to drive all over town,” she added. ”In one giant showroom you can kick the tires and check under the hood of every car you’ve ever dreamed of owning.”

Three lucky winners will drive away with free gas for a year just by registering at the show. Another contest challenges attendees to guess the make, model and mileage of a “crushed” car, with the winner receiving a 46” Samsung LCD TV.

The Greater Toledo Auto Show will feature family activities with appearances by “Muddy the Mud Hen” and “Mudonna” Friday from 7-9pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 1-3pm, and the animated television character “Ben 10, the Protector of Earth” Sunday from 12-2pm.

Hours for the Toledo Auto Show are Thursday, 3pm-9pm, Friday and Saturday, 10am-9pm, and Sunday, 10am-5pm. Tickets are $5 at the door. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a paid adult. The show is sponsored by The Blade and toledoblade.com. For more information visit www.toledoautoshow.org

2) The Cars are the Stars VI:
Black-tie gala preview will benefit four charity groups

A black-tie charity preview of the Greater Toledo Auto Show, Jan. 22 from 6:30pm-11pm, will raise funds for Toledo Children’s Hospital, Wake up Youth, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Auto Dealers United for Kids Scholarship Fund.

“The Cars are the Stars VI” will be held at the SeaGate Convention Centre and will be attended by several hundred Toledo business leaders and automobile executives. “The Menus” will entertain attendees while they browse food stations and get a sneak peak at the hottest automobiles for 2009.

The charity party kicks off the four-day auto show that will include nearly 200 cars from 30 makers and more than 30 area auto dealers. Tickets are $250 each and can be purchased through the Toledo Auto Dealers Association. For more information visit www.toledoautoshow.org. Gala hours are 6pm-11pm.

Toledo Children’s Hospital is a 151-bed hospital that serves children and adolescents, and is home to the region’s largest neonatal intensive care unit. Wake Up Youth is an elite girl’s crisis prevention and intervention program in a nurturing and secure environment for ages eight to twenty one. Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Auto Dealers United for Kids Scholarship Program awards $1000 scholarships to applicants planning to register in an automotive program at Owens Community College or Northwest University.
