(Bowling Green, Ohio) This February 20-22, 2009 the community of Bowling Green welcomes
its inaugural Winterfest. Northwest Ohio has been a recurrent source national skating, hockey
and curling talent. Accordingly, Winterfest pays homage to the ice heritage and tradition that our region has since enjoyed.

The inspiration behind Winterfest came as a tribute to Bowling Green native Scott Hamilton.
This February 2009, marks the 25th anniversary of his gold medal achievement at the 1984
Sarajevo Olympic Games.

On Saturday, February 21, 2009, to celebrate Scott Hamilton’s historic Olympic Gold Medal
performance, The College of Business Administration at Bowling Green State University will be
having a fundraising gala to benefit the College of Business and Entrepreneurship Programs
including the Dallas-Hamilton Foundation.

The gala will be at the BGSU Lenhart Grand Ballroom, Bowen-Thompson Student Union at 6:30
p.m. RSVP will be required by February 6, 2009. Scott will be joined by his fellow U.S. Figure
skating medalists from the 1984 Olympics. Scheduled to appear are Peter Carruthers, Kitty
Carruthers, and Rosalynn Sumners.

Surrounding the gala event, Winterfest will offer numerous fun-filled events for all ages.
Throughout the weekend people will enjoy horse drawn carriage rides, specialty menus at local
restaurants, live music, and ice sculptures adorning the city streets. Complete event information is being posted daily at www.winterfest09.com
