Girl Scout Cookies Coming to Area Kroger Stores

Be prepared to see many smiling faces and hear the question, “Would you like to buy some Girl Scout Cookies?”

Girl Scouts will be setting up booths Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28 outside of area Kroger stores to sell Girl Scout Cookies. Booth sales will also be happening in front of other area businesses now through March 22, 2009. To find the closest booth sale, customers can go to www.girlscoutsofwesternohio.org, click on the spinning cookie, and enter their zip code.

Girl Scout Cookies have been an American tradition for more than 90 years – and for good reason. “When you buy a box of Girl Scouts Cookies, you are truly making an investment in the future of your community,” says Barbara J. Bonifas, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio CEO. Girl Scout activities, including the cookie sale, help girls to strengthen their own and others’ commitment to being socially, politically, and environmentally engaged citizens and leaders.

It’s amazing what one little cookie can do – build a community’s future with girls of courage, confidence, and character.

About Girl Scout Cookies:

Girl Scout Cookies are a familiar part of American culture. For more than 80 years, Girl Scouts, with the enthusiastic support of their families, have helped ensure the success of local Girl Scout Cookie activities. From its earliest beginnings to its current popularity, the sale of cookies has helped Girl Scouts have fun, develop valuable life skills, and make the world a better place by helping to support Girl Scouting in their communities.

This year Girl Scout Cookies are available in eight varieties and sell for only $3 per package. Perennial favorites Thin Mints, Shortbreads, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Peanut Butter Patties, Lemonades, and Thanks-A-Lots will be joined by a new variety – Reduced Fat Daisy Go Rounds (100 calorie packs filled with crispy cinnamon snacks).
