Popular Chilean Author Isabel Allende Appearance

Popular Chilean novelist Isabel Allende is the second speaker scheduled for the 2009 Authors! Authors! spring series presented by The Blade and arranged by the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library. Allende’s talk is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 in the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd.

Allende’s latest work, Ines of My Soul, is a work of historical fiction which recounts the astonishing life of Ines Suarez, a daring Spanish conquistadora who toiled to build the nation of Chile. Allende started her career as a magazine writer in Chile, and has taught literature at several major American universities. Allende’s first novel was published in 1982 titled The House of the Spirits.

Authors! Authors! tickets are $10 per person. Tickets are available for purchase now at all Toledo-Lucas County Public Library locations and are limited in quantity. Student discounts are available.
