The C-SPAN Civics Bus is on the road to Toledo! The 45-foot mobile production studio and demonstration center will travel to St. Catherine of Siena School and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library as the bus visits schools and other community venues to share C-SPAN’s education and civic resources with students and the public across the country. The bus will be open for tours with the general public at Main Library.

Buckeye CableSystem is hosting the bus during its visit to the area.

*The bus is scheduled to visit Main Library, 325 Michigan St., in downtown Toledo, from 1-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13. The bus will be parked near the North Lawn in the front of Main Library.

With a new exterior design, and interior features that include the latest television production equipment, the C-SPAN Civics Bus allows students, teachers and other visitors the chance to tour the bus and learn about the many resources C-SPAN offers, including the network’s education website, C-SPAN Classroom (www.c-spanclassroom.org), a free membership service for educators with downloadable video clips; the C-SPAN Video library (www.c-spanarchives.org ); and C-SPAN’s television coverage of the new administration.

C-SPAN, celebrating 30 years as America’s political network of record, was created by America’s cable companies as a public service in 1979. C-SPAN programs three public affairs television networks; C-SPAN Radio, a Washington, D.C. radio station distributed nationally by XM Satellite Radio; and a video-rich website. C-SPAN is currently available in over 92 million cable and satellite households. For more information, visit www.c-span.org.
