Join the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library (TLCPL) and The Renaissance Male Project from 2-4:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 20 at Mott Branch Library, 1085 Dorr St., for a public discussion on the topic of what fatherhood means to your father and your community.

This unique event titled, Dreams from My Father: Father’s Day Celebration, honors the role of fathers in promoting peace, safety and non-violence in families, said Jewel Woods, event co-organizer and spokesman for The Renaissance Male Project, an organization with a mission to grow stronger communities by focusing on the unique opportunities of working with men and boys in our society. The Project offers trainings, research, evaluation reports, and a wide variety of experiences for individuals, groups, and organizations to increase their knowledge and skills for working with males.

Participants will be encouraged to share their favorite quotes or passages from United States President Barack Obama’s book Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance. Check out a copy of this book at Mott Branch, or at any TLCPL branch location.
All ages are encouraged to attend this community event and childcare will be provided on-site.
