Mud Hens Start July With 10 Game Homestand

The Toledo Mud Hens return home on Friday, July 3 for a ten-game homestand versus the Columbus Clippers (Cleveland Indians), Louisville Bats (Cincinnati Reds) and the Indianapolis Indians (Pittsburgh Pirates).

Friday, July 3
(Columbus, 1st Pitch at 7:00 PM – Gates open at 5:30) – The Mud Hens will host the Columbus Clippers in the first game of their homestand. The first 2,000 fans will receive a 5×7 color photo of Swayne Field as part of its Centennial Anniversary celebration. As part of Independence Day weekend the Mud Hens are throwing a downtown barbeque in what is being dubbed as the Liberty Bash Buffet. There will also be post-game fireworks. The contest between the Mud Hens and Clippers can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA and seen live on BCSN.

Saturday, July 4
(Columbus, 1st Pitch at 7:00 PM – Gates open at 5:30) – The Hens host the Clippers again in the second of a three game set. For Independence Day, the Liberty Bash Buffet returns as do the post-game fireworks. There is also a Patriotic Jersey silent auction where proceeds will benefit a local charity. In addition, it is ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) Awareness Night. Game 2 between the Mud Hens and Clippers can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA and seen live on BCSN.

Sunday, July 5
(Columbus, 1st pitch at 6:30 PM – Gates open at 5:00) – The Mud Hens will host the Columbus Clippers in the final game of their three-game series. The first 3,000 fans will receive Mud Hens rally towels presented by Verizon Wireless. Selected Mud Hens players will be signing pre-game autographs, and following the game, kids can run the bases and there are fireworks. The contest between the Hens and the Clippers can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA and seen live on BCSN.

Tuesday, July 7
(Louisville, 1st pitch at 7:00 PM – Gates open at 6:00) – After an off-day on Monday the Mud Hens open a three-game series with the Louisville Bats, who are the top affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. It is the first day of a 3-day baseball camp for kids ages 7-14; Day 1 will emphasize baseball fundamentals and will be taught by selected Mud Hens players. The contest between the Hens and the Bats can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA.

Wednesday, July 8
(Louisville, 1st pitch at 7:00 PM – Gates open at 6:00) – The Mud Hens continue a series with the Louisville Bats. It is the second day of a 3-day baseball camp for kids ages 7-14; Day 2 will also emphasize baseball fundamentals and will be taught by selected Mud Hens players. Rockin’ Ray and the SkyDogs USA, considered the ultimate in family entertainment, will perform at Fifth Third Field! The contest between the Hens and the Bats can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA.

Thursday, July 9
(Louisville, 1st pitch at 7:00 PM – Gates open at 6:00) – The Mud Hens wrap up a series with the Louisville Bats. It is the final day of a 3-day baseball camp for kids ages 7-14; Day 3 will feature three competitions (Speed Pitch, Gold Glove, Race to First Base) and then will conclude with a game for each age group and an awards ceremony in the Roost. Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants will be making an appearance at Fifth Third Field! The contest between the Hens and the Bats can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA and seen live on BCSN.

Friday, July 10
(Indianapolis, 1st pitch at 7:00 PM – Gates open at 5:30) – The Mud Hens will host the Indianapolis Indians for four games to conclude the homestand. Rockin’ Ray and the SkyDogs USA is back for another appearance; there is also post-game fireworks and a scout sleepover (for girls). The contest between the Hens and the Indians can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA and seen live on BCSN.

Saturday, July 11
(Indianapolis, 1st pitch at 5:30 PM – Gates open at 4:00) – As part of Double Night at Fifth Third Field, the Mud Hens and Indianapolis Indians will play a double-header — two games for the price of one! Both games will be seven innings, then following Game 2 there will be post-game fireworks and another scout sleepover. The games between the Hens and the Indians can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA and seen live on BCSN.

Sunday, July 12
(Indianapolis, 1st pitch at 6:30 PM – Gates open at 5:00) – The Hens host the Indianapolis Indians for their final game before the All-Star break. Selected Mud Hens players will be signing pre-game autographs, and following the game kids can run the bases and there are fireworks. The contest between the Hens and the Indians can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA and seen live on BCSN.
