TOLEDO BUSINESS HELPS OTHERS FIGHT THE FLU
AOA PRODUCTS, LLC ASSEMBLES AFFORDABLE H1N1 HEALTH KITS FOR PUBLIC USE

TOLEDO, OHIO 8/20/2009 –AOA Products, LLC, a local custom packaging company, has developed a preparation kit for the H1N1 virus, otherwise known as the swine flu, to help prevent the disease from spreading.

“As a mother, employer, and an active member of my community, I can’t even imagine how many people I come into direct contact with every day,” says Olivia Albright, owner of AOA Products, LLC. “I think it’s important to be aware of what’s out there, what’s coming, and do everything we can to prevent the worst from happening.”

The H1N1 virus is an entirely new strain of common influenza viruses that have been affecting humans for centuries. Though many of the symptoms — like fever, headache, nausea, sneezing and coughing — are the same, this particular strain is deadlier because unlike with the common strains, humans have not developed any level of immunity to H1N1.

The disease is highly contagious through fluid transfer and physical contact, and the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are particularly concerned about the effects it may have on students returning to school this fall. Health officials are projecting up to 40% of Americans could contract H1N1 this year if it continues to progress.

Earlier this year, the WHO declared a pandemic of H1N1. Recognizing the importance of preparation, Albright began working on the development of health kits that would aid families, schools, businesses and organizations in preventing the spread of infection and panic. “What is even scarier than the virus itself,” she says, “is the idea that we’re completely helpless at the moment … it’s comforting to think that there is something we can do to try and reduce the risk of contracting and spreading the virus.”

The AOA Flu Protection Kit, designed to cover the inoculation period of H1N1, contains a Pandemic Flu Information Card; five N-95 particulate filter face masks; a bottle of hand sanitizer made from 62% ethyl alcohol; and five pair of latex, powder-free gloves. The kits are available in Adult, Youth and Child sizes. AOA Products, LLC, a Tier II Manufacturer, will receive stock of these materials second only to first responders. “We want to make sure we can supply communities with these items as the need increases and people get desperate,” Albright said, referring to this past spring when supplies were at risk of selling out and becoming unavailable to companies and individuals in many parts of the world. “Everyone should have tools to protect themselves.” Each kit, which retails for $7.95 plus shipping for Adult and Youth size kits, and $5.95 plus shipping for the Child size kits, meets the protection criteria outlined by the CDC and WHO and is manufactured and assembled in the U.S.

Since 2003, AOA Products, LLC has been supplying customers with custom bagging, kitting, assembling and sorting services. To order AOA Flu Protection Kits, or for more information about AOA Products, LLC, please call 419-350-1244 or visit www.aoaflukit.com.
