Zoo Fun Continues Through September

Toledo, OH—Summer may be coming to an end, but there’s still a lot of fun to be had at The Toledo Zoo through September and beyond—including Nature’s Neighborhood, which will be open for discovery all year round! September and October Senior Discovery Days
Seniors receive free admission each Tuesday, plus free coffee and a mini-muffin each weekday in the Timberline Bakery. There are also all kinds of special activities scheduled just for our friends 60 and over.

September 11
Feast with the Beasts
With a five-course gourmet dinner and a special auction featuring unique and unusual items, this is a great way to support the Zoo’s mission while savoring some sophistication. Reservations are required in advance; please call (419) 385-5721, ext. 2091. Presented by National City Bank, now part of PNC.

September 13
Day of Honor
To honor those who keep us safe all year round, we offer free admission to all military personnel, police officers, firefighters and EMTs when they show their badge or professional ID. Presented by St. Vincent Mercy Children’s Hospital.

September 13
Grandparents Day
Free admission for all grandparents who visit with their grandchildren. We’ll have lots of great activities, too, so join us for some intergenerational fun!

I Do at the Zoo Bridal Fair
If you’re planning your big day, you’ll want to visit the Sounds of Music “I Do at the Zoo” Bridal Fair from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Nairobi Pavilion.

September 19
Antique Car Show
See some cool Model A and Model T cars, and meet the cool folks who own them!

September 25
Zoo Brew Fest
Sample a variety of domestic and imported beers, snack on some tasty appetizers and dig some great live music from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Nairobi Pavilion. Reservations are required and tickets must be purchased in advance, so call (419) 385-5721, ext. 3092 to book your spot today!

September 26
The Big Feed
Everyone likes to watch Zoo animals chow down, so join us for this snack-tacular event! Watch as animals enjoy a meal and learn how we provide enrichment for them. There are opportunities for you to feed some of your favorite Zoo animals as well—call (419) 385-5721, ext. 3092 to learn more!

The Toledo Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (4 p.m. after Labor Day) and is located on the Anthony Wayne Trail (US 25), four miles south of downtown Toledo. For more information, please visit www.toledozoo.org or call (419) 385-4040. Lucas County residents are admitted free of charge each Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. ID showing proof or residency is required.
