Toledo School for the Arts Presents All Shook Up the Musical
Rock and Roll changed America and here’s the proof!

Toledo School for the Arts (TSA) presents ALL SHOOK UP on November 5th through 8th, at Owens Community College Center for Fine and Performing Arts.

All Shook Up based on William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and set during 24 hours in a small, Mid-western town where “excitement” (loud music, dancing and singing) is outlawed. All Shook Up is the story of motorcycles, falling in love, mistaken identities and happy endings.

Songs in the production include ones made famous by Elvis Presley Love Me Tender, Heartbreak Hotel and Carl Perkins’ Blue Suede Shoes and of course, All Shook Up.

TSA’s production has over 50 students from Lucas, Ottawa and Wood counties involved in the production and is under the direction of guest director Deb Calabrese.

This is the 10th musical Ms. Calebrese has directed for TSA, as a staff member and now as a guest director. She has worked in theatre for over 25 years with most of her productions at the Toledo the Rep on Mainstage, Young Rep and Young Playgoers Series and the count is in the hundreds, so many that she has lost count. In addition, she has owned a dance studio, produced recitals and choreographed winning routines for dance competitions. Ms. Calabrese and her husband are among the founders of Toledo School for the Arts. Said Ms. Calabrese, “I began dancing and performing at the age of 3 and haven’t stopped yet. My students are working all over the world from New York to Tokyo. I don’t think I’m that interesting, but every day I work in the arts is a good one.”
