Local Catholic marketing firm launches Vocations Boom!

October 19, 2009 – Independent marketing agency, The Word Out, LLC, recently launched its latest initiative, Vocation Boom! — an integrated campaign focused on supporting the Catholic priesthood as a life’s vocation and mission.

The effort includes marketing strategy, creative development video, and web components. Related marketing initiatives include collateral materials, social media strategy and a development of a blog by founder, Jerry Usher, creator and former host of Catholic Answers Live.

“Vocation Boom! is the fruit of a 20-year vision in my heart to more widely promote and foster vocations to the priesthood,” Usher said in a statement. “As such, I wouldn’t have entrusted the creative work to just anyone. The Word Out has managed to capture my vision and implement it in a manner that is of the highest caliber.”

The creative rationale is that Vocation Boom! has an opportunity to powerfully engage young men who may be experiencing God’s call to the priesthood. Throughout this campaign, The Word Out has communicated the beauty and complexity of the priesthood, the variety of emotions discerners may experience and that individuals considering the priesthood are just normal, regular guys — your son, your friend, your neighbor.

“We really took a different approach with the message,” said agency President and Creative Director, Dino Piccinini. “We wanted to appeal to a younger demographic in both tone and delivery because Vocation Boom! is engaging, youthful and inspiring while still being about God’s call.”

Throughout the campaign, motivational slogans suggest things like – ‘Here I Am’, “Have You Considered Your Future In Vestments?’, ‘Discern A Living’ and ‘Vows to be different’, among others.

Said Usher: “The entire initiative will have a much greater impact due to the efforts of The Word Out.”

The Word Out was founded in direct response to Pope John Paul II’s calling for a new evangelization through individuals working in various media, and their client list includes EWTN, The Catholic Radio Association, Teresa Tomeo Communications, the Knights of Columbus and Third Millennium Media.
