The Fantasticks

Come join the Village Players Theatre as we wrap up our 53rd season with the musical The Fantasticks. Book and lyrics for The Fantasticks are by Tom Jones and music is by Harvey Schmidt. It is presented through special arrangement by Music Theatre International (MTI) and will be directed by Paul Palmisano.

The Fantasticks is the longest running musical in the history of theatre. It is based loosely on “Les Romanesques” by Edmond Rostand concerning two neighboring fathers who put up a wall between their houses to ensure that their children fall in love. After the children do fall in love, they discover their fathers’ plot and they each go off and experience things in the world. They return to each other and the love they had, having learned from the world and made an informed decision.

The show will run May 7th – 22nd, 2010 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sunday, May 16th at 2:00pm. Tickets are available by calling the ticket service at (419) 472-6817 or at the box office; $16 for General Admission and $14 for Seniors (60+) and students. Season tickets, gift certificates and Adopt-A-Seats are available.
