Maumee, OH, June 17, 2010 –
Who: Sixteen local non-profit groups such as Monroe Street Neighborhood Center, Toledo Area Humane Society, Alzheimer’s Association, (See full list below) are partnering with The Pinnacle, a banquet facility and catering company in Maumee. The Pinnacle will host an outdoor event for each of the 16 charities. The events are open to the public and especially to the Arrowhead Business Park community, as they are conveniently located to Twylite Terrace
What: Twylite Thursdays will be held each Thursday, with a different charity benefitting each week. There will be live music from local talent, mini dinners, and other entertainment varying week to week. There will also be a cash bar, with a percentage of drink proceeds going to the charity. There is a $10 cover charge that includes the mini meals, live entertainment, and a donation. The Pinnacle is offering these weekly events at no cost to the charities.
When: Every Thursday through September 16th. The events start after work at 5pm and will wrap up around 10pm.
Where: The Twylite Terrace is the new outdoor venue at The Pinnacle. The address is 1772 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, OH 43537. The event is rain or shine. There is an indoor backup on site in the ballroom in the case of inclement weather. Twylite Terrace is a unique venue with a water wall, fire feature, and fiber optic lighting in the concrete flooring. It is often used for cocktail receptions and wedding ceremonies.
Why: Twylite Terrace provides local patrons an opportunity to not just go out for drinks and music after work, but to make a donation to a great cause at the same time. These summer events will provide Toledoans an easy low-cost way to feel good and give back to local charities. Tickets to typical charity fundraisers can be upwards of $100, a big commitment, and out of many people’s budget. By The Pinnacle providing a facility, food, and entertainment at no charge to the charity, the charity can pass that saving onto their donors, allowing for more money to go directly to the charity. Twylite Thursdays also provides an opportunity for small scale charities to fundraise without a large scale event with a lot of planning and upfront cost.
Significance: Local businesses helping local charities in a type of event that has never been done in Toledo.
