Lakeside, Ohio – Participate in the many patriotic activities on Sunday, July 4 in Lakeside. The day begins with the Children’s Bike Parade at 1:30 p.m. in Perry Park. Participants should arrive early with an already decorated bike.
Following the bike parade will be the Fourth of July Float Parade at 2 p.m. The grand marshals for the float parade will be Michael Hirsch and Anthony Ramicone, youth shuffleboard players that will be traveling to Germany to play in the World Cup 2010 Team Tournament in Hohenroda, Hesse, in August. The third team member, Riley Hubbard, will be arriving to Lakeside later this summer, and therefore will not be able to participate in the Fourth of July Parade.
Both parades will travel from east to west on Second Street. Spectators are invited to dress patriotically, as they are an important part of this Lakeside holiday tradition.
The Hotel Lakeside Dining Room and outdoor Café will serve and extensive Sunday brunch buffet from 10:30 a.m-2 p.m. From 2-8 p.m. BBQ Traveler will offer a variety of food, including chicken, ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs and sandwiches on the lawn of Hotel Lakeside. Food selections are a la carte and are under $10.
Central Ohio Brass Band will entertain at the Steele Memorial Bandstand at 6 p.m., offering a selection of familiar patriotic tunes.
At 9:45 p.m., or dusk, fireworks will offer a spectacular finale to the day.
