Live Stream – WGTE Town Hall: Leading in Literacy

Posted Feb 24th, 2011 by Knowledge Stream  Category: Community Interest

Thursday, February 24 at 8:00 p.m.

Bill Harris hosts this live program that examines one of the most pressing issues facing our community – the problem of low literacy rates among preschool aged children. Children entering school with high literacy skills are “ready to learn” and move to the head of the class. Children with weak reading skills begin school at a disadvantage, a gap that may grow wider as their educational experiece proceeds. How can we break the cycle?

During the show, you’ll hear from the experts, have an opportunity to call in with your questions, and also receive a packet of free information and resources. Citizens may attend the meeting virtually and provide feedback by posting comments live during the event.
