On Saturday, April 30, Luminations will celebrate its 10th year of raising funds for student scholarships at Lourdes. Beginning at 6 p.m., guests will join 2011 Honorary Chairs Trent Smith, Regional President of Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company and wife Lori in a black tie evening of dancing, cocktails, grazing stations and a fabulous silent auction. This year’s gala features live entertainment from the Maxx Band, the Toledo Ballet, the Toledo Opera, the Toledo Symphony and Broadway’s Meredith Patterson.

Meredith Patterson is a professional actress, dancer and musician. She has been training in classical ballet, tap and jazz since the age of two, and previously served as an instructor for the Universal Dance Association. Patterson made her Broadway debut in The Green Bird, followed by starring roles in the Tony Award winning revival of 42nd Street and The Boy Friend, directed by Julie Andrews. She has been featured in a variety of television and movie productions including All My Children, Boston Legal, Company Men, Guiding Light and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. Currently, Patterson is touring New York with her solo jazz show “Sweet Old Fashioned Girl” featuring a 14 song set of jazz standards.

Since its inception, more than 40 corporate sponsors, 3,000 guests and countless organizations have helped Luminations raise more than $1.4 million for students. “We are so grateful to our friends and supporters for joining us at Luminations, a wonderful evening celebrating the arts, showcasing Lourdes and providing the critically needed scholarship dollars that help our students realize their dreams of a college degree,” says Mary Arquette, Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
