OHHS Drama Department Presents…
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”

The vibrant tale of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” comes to life as the drama department at Ottawa Hills High School (OHHS) prepares to showcase this year’s musical, a well-known biblical saga from the Old Testament book of Genesis. The production, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, tells the incredible story of Joseph, his jealous brothers and his coat of many colors.

The talented and enthusiastic cast of 95 spotlights Aaron Intrater (OHHS Senior) as Joseph. Joseph, who has 11 brothers (that is, 11 jealous brothers!), enjoys an extraordinary bond with his father, Jacob (AJ Longthorne, OHHS Senior). Joseph is also blessed with a gift of interpreting dreams and is the owner of an amazing technicolor coat.

Josephs challenging adventure begins as his 11 jealous brothers with support from their 11 wives destroy his cherished coat and take him to Egypt to sell him to slavery. Soon enough, the news of Joseph’s special gift spreads to the Pharaoh (Reed Silverman, OHHS Senior) where he then appoints Joseph as second in command.

Eventually, there is a shocking turn of events for Joseph and his brothers.

This energetic story is presented in all song and dance. It features a wide range of musical styles with narrative background sung throughout the drama by Grace Wipfli (OHHS Sophomore). The dancing was choreographed by Elizabeth Noble (OHHS Sophomore). The result is an auditorium filled with excitement that will have the audience on the edge of their seat from when the curtains open all the way until the final act.

The schedule for this OHHS lively interpretation of this timeless story is as follow:
Friday, April, 29 Debut at 8:00 PM
