Posted Jul 13th, 2011 by Ryan Bunch  Category: Arts & Entertainment

The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo (ACGT) is pleased to announce that it will host its inaugural Downtown SoundTrek event on Friday, July 22nd, 2011. This new multi-media music event is designed to put the FUN in fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting ACGT. Monies raised will aid in continuing to present other ACGT programs, such as Artomatic 419!, Gallery Loops, Art Walks and more as free, and open to the public.

Downtown SoundTrek features 13 great local venues and businesses that regularly feature live music, as well as more than 30 diverse live musical acts spanning the gamut from rock, pop and hip-hop to folk and bluegrass, to blues, jazz, country, DJ & dance music, and more.

Downtown SoundTrek will take place from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., and features three buses running a loop to all 13 venues. One wristband gets access to all venues and bus rides in-between. Wristbands are $15 advance, $20 night of. Attendees may visit individual venues for a cost of $5 per venue, but will not receive a wristband.

Wristbands are currently on sale at all participating locations, ACGT offices, and online via Toledo.com and www.acgt.org.

ACGT has partnered with JL Entertainment Services, who will present the first annual Toledo Music Expo on Saturday, July 23 at the Erie Street Market. The Expo event features a number of live musicians, as well as vendor booths, and networking opportunities for the local music community. SoundTrek attendees will receive a special $5 discount off the price of admission at the door with their wristband. A portion of the Toledo Music Expo proceeds will benefit ACGT. www.toledomusicexpo.com
