BOWLING GREEN, O.—The regional version of the popular TED conference is coming to Bowling Green State University. TEDxBGSU, an independently produced event operated under license from TED, will be held Sept. 16 at Kobacker Hall.

Organized along the theme of “Passion. Inspiration. Action.” the conference will feature 15-18 leading thinkers, innovators, artists, philosophers and entertainers representing such diverse fields as technology, business, design and education, among others.

TED was founded in 1984 and stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. The annual TED conference brings together some of the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED created a program called TEDx where x equals independently organized.

“The event is as much about the attendees as it is the speakers,” says Skyler Rogers, curator for the event. “TEDxBGSU will attract some of the brightest people from our region, those who will take the ideas presented and use them as a catalyst for change in their communities.”

Tickets are $99 for general admission and $29 for students. They are available at www.tedxbgsu.com/tickets.

Speakers are currently being vetted and will be announced as they are confirmed. More information about the event can be found at www.tedxbgsu.com. You can also follow developments at TEDxBGSU on Twitter or Facebook.
