The University of Toledo’s Model United Nations and Students for Justice in Palestine invite all UT students, faculty and staff to join a discussion on the Palestine bid to the United Nations for statehood.

The educational lecture, “Country at a Crossroads: The Question of Palestinian Statehood,” will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the Honors College on the third floor of Sullivan Hall.

Linda N. Mansour, a member of the UT Board of Trustees, was invited to give the talk. She is one of the youngest graduates of the UT College of Law and is the principal managing partner in her own law firm.

“Generating such discussion on a particularly salient topic in international relations is to the benefit of all of us here on campus,” said Butheina Hamdah, president of Students for Justice in Palestine and secretary of the UT Model United Nations.

“Ms. Mansour is surely one of the most qualified candidates here in Toledo to help us bring the Palestinian issue to light. We hope students will leave the lecture eager to continue to follow such affairs in which our United States government is so involved.”

A question-and-answer session and reception will follow the lecture.
