1Mile Matters Walk for Homelessness Solutions

Posted Sep 27th, 2011 by Amanda Moore  Category: Events, Toledo.com

1Matters, a 501(c)3 nonprofit headquartered in Toledo, is in the process of building a national organization with the help of several recording artists. For over 20 years, we’ve brought the community together to provide practical, tangible solutions to homelessness. Projects such as Tent City, Toledo Streets newspaper, and others are just the beginning. The walk supports these efforts to bring, with dignity first, individuals and families with children back to domestic autonomy.

The 2nd annual walk will begin at Promenade Park and end at the Erie Street Market for the all day 1Rocks benefit concert. Bands include the Verve Pipe’s Brian Vander Ark, the Homereckers, Pat Lewandowski, Bobby May, Hepcat Revival, Ugly Tribe Revival, and more.

Each of the 5280 feet that each walker takes, 1 at a time, is 1 more step to get 1 more family or individual 1 step closer to a home.
