TAHS Announces Two New Programs for Spring Break

Toledo, OH – The Toledo Area Humane Society has two awesome opportunities coming up for animal lovers ages 7 to 11 years old – just in time for Spring Break!

First up is the new Earth Day Paw-ty program on Wednesday, April 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Kids will get an inside look at how TAHS rescues, rehabs, and re-homes animals that come to our shelter – the ultimate in recycling! Your little animal lover will make a homemade bird feeder, play a habitat elimination game, take a tour of TAHS, go on a nature scavenger hunt and get to spend some fur time with a couple of the animals here at TAHS.  

The second program is the new Toys for Tails program on Thursday, April 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Toledo Area Humane Society wants all of the animals to be happy during their stay, so this fun-filled class let’s kids help TAHS bring some joy to the animals by making some crafty critter creations. Spring-breakers will make dog and cat collars and some tasty homemade dog and cat treats.  Plus, we’ll play animal bingo, take a tour of TAHS and spend some fur time snuggling with a couple TAHS residents.  

The fee for each of the 2012 Spring Break programs is only $25 per child. Each class will be held at the Toledo Area Humane Society at 1920 Indian Wood Circle in Arrowhead Park in Maumee. Registration can be completed online at

The Toledo Area Humane Society is open Tuesday through Friday from 11am – 7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 6pm. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization they are committed to the welfare of animals by providing temporary shelter and care while seeking permanent homes.
