Library Celebrates South Toledo Day

South Toledo will be bursting with excitement and feature a variety of family neighborhood activities on Saturday, May 19. Save the Date!

This fun-filled family day begins with a CAR SHOW located at the corner of Byrne and Heatherdowns from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. hosted by The Byrne Heatherdowns Business Association. The Association will give charitable proceeds to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and to the UTMC Dana Cancer Center. All styles and models of cars are welcome. Raffles, Dash Plaques and a Trophy for People’s Choice will be available for participants. There is a minimal $10 fee to register your vehicle to be in the show. Also on this day, officials of the Heatherdowns Branch Library, 3265 Glanzman, will host a PATRON APPRECIATION DAY! from noon to 3 p.m. Join your community neighbors and friends for a FREE day as the Library says thanks to our patrons with food, cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones!

Library staff storytellers along with the Frogtown Storytellers Guild will delight the audience with their family-centered stories. Performances featuring local musician Jeff Stewart, along with the group Drums of Thunder will promise to be an entertaining musical afternoon.

Friends of the Library (FOL) will host a book sale for those who wish to expand their home libraries. This family afternoon will conclude with a Teen Talent Show!
