OSU Extension Lucas County will be presenting a workshop on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Toledo Botanical Garden Center, 5403 Elmer Drive, Toledo, OH

This session is the second of a three-part series on Alternative Gardening Techniques. The focus on the 15th will be on different designs of vertical gardens, and raised bed gardens featuring an herb spiral garden. Both of these garden designs are for the home gardener with limited planting space, and have an ergonomic feature for limited access individuals. The vertical gardens will fit on an apartment balcony, patio, or deck.

A second session on June 19th will cover the opportunities available to those who would like to have fresh vegetables but don’t have the time/or space to garden. We will be featuring information on small container gardens, and the availability of Community Supported Agriculture farms in the area who will sell shares in the yield of their produce.

Course fee is $15.00 each, or $25.00 for two sessions. Please email for a reservation, or call 419-578-6783. Walk-ins will also be accepted that evening.
