Show Mom A Wildly Fun Time At The Zoo

Despite how very hard moms work, they like to have fun, too. This year, on Sunday, May 13, celebrate your marvelous mom with a fun day at your Toledo Zoo.

All moms receive free Zoo admission when accompanied by one or more children on Sunday, May 13. Free crafts are available in Nature’s Neighborhood from 12 to 3 p.m., so the kids can decorate a nifty Mother’s Day mini-basket on the spot. Plus, there’s all the fun the Zoo has to offer – including some marvelous animal moms, from Marta the Amur tiger and Renee the African elephant to Fanta and Fresca the ring-tailed lemurs. The Mother’s Day Celebration is sponsored by Meijer.

In addition, the Zoo hosts a full-service Mother’s Day brunch in the historic African Lodge; times, prices and delicious menu details are at toledozoo.org. This outing fills fast, so reserve your family’s place today at 419.385.5721, ext. 6001 (prepaid reservations only).

And mark your calendar for a return visit May 18-20, when the Zoo’s innovative new elephant exhibit, Tembo Trail, opens. It’s all made possible by the 2006 Lucas County capital levy voters, along with contributors to the Zoo’s capital campaign. Updates about Tembo Trail will be available at toledozoo.org/tembotrail as Grand Opening Weekend, sponsored by The Andersons, draws closer.
