Cats and kittens everywhere! The Toledo Area Humane Society has many furry felines currently looking for homes and many more currently in foster homes that will be available for adoption soon. To help find forever homes for the cats and kittens currently waiting at TAHS, the Humane Society is introducing “$5 Fridays” beginning Friday, May 25 through Friday, June 29.

Every Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., all cats and kittens will have their adoption fees reduced to just $5 each! No matter what type of cat or kitten you’re looking for, the Toledo Area Humane Society is sure to have it – long-haired, short-haired, orange, black, gray, tabby, calico, or tiger-striped!

“We want to be able to take in and re-home as many animals as possible, so we’re hoping by reducing cat and kitten adoption fees with ‘$5 Fridays’, we will be able to quickly find homes for many of them. The more cats and kittens that get adopted, the more space we will have available to help more cats and kittens coming to the Humane Society each day” said Executive Director John Dinon. “We’re currently taking in over 100 cats and kittens each week and we have over 150 kittens currently in foster homes waiting until they are old enough to go up for adoption. We only have limited space available, so the more animals we can find homes for, the more animals we can help” explained Dinon.

Because adoption fees will be so greatly reduced during “$5 Fridays”, TAHS wants to remind adopters that donations are greatly appreciated in addition to the reduced adoption fees to help cover their costs and to help them help more animals. All cats, kittens, dogs and puppies adopted from the Toledo Area Humane Society are spayed or neutered, get microchipped, receive their age-appropriate vaccines and get a physical exam by our on-staff veterinarians.

The Toledo Area Humane Society is open Tuesday through Friday from 11am – 7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 6pm. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization they are committed to the welfare of animals by providing temporary shelter and care while seeking permanent homes. Donations from local individuals, corporations and monies generated by fundraisers and earned revenue are a major source of funding for the Toledo Area Humane Society.
