Father’s Day Fun at the Toledo Zoo

Posted Jun 6th, 2012 by Andi Norman  Category: Arts & Entertainment, Toledo.com

The Toledo Zoo has been creating great family memories for generations, so it makes sense to spend Sunday, June 17 — Father’s Day — making a few new memories at the region’s top attraction! And with free admission for dads whose kids bring them to the Zoo, there’s even more reason to make the Toledo Zoo your family’s destination.

This year’s Father’s Day celebration is sponsored by Zoro Tools, and the fun starts right at the gate, when the first 50 dads get free Zoro Tools hats.

All day long, your Zoo is offering cool interactive sports-themed games and activities, free with your regular Zoo admission. Plus you can treat Dad to a special BBQ lunch. Add that to the usual fun of the Toledo Zoo, and you have a recipe for one great day celebrating one great guy!

Seating times for the BBQ lunch are 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. This lunch fills up fast, so call 419.385.5721, extension 6001, to reserve your space. If a BBQ time still has available seating, walk-ins will be admitted, but pre-scheduled reservations will be seated first. Visit toledozoo.org more information. Prices for the BBQ lunch are:
Members
$12.50 Adults (ages 12-59 yrs)
$8.50 Children (ages 2-11) and Seniors (60+)
Free for Children under 2

Non-members
$14.50 Adults (ages 12-59 yrs)
$10.50 Children (ages 2-11) and Seniors (60+)

This summer, the Zoo is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Zoo is located on the Anthony Wayne Trail (US 25), four miles south of downtown Toledo. For more information, please visit toledozoo.org or call 419.385.4040. Lucas County residents are admitted free of charge each Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. Valid ID showing proof of residency is required.

The Toledo Zoo is committed to inspiring others to join in caring for animals and conserving the natural world. As part of that mission, The Toledo Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), a leader in global wildlife conservation. AZA member institutions are dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for visitors and a better future for all living things.
