Central Catholic High School’s Music Hall of Fame and music department reunion will be held Saturday, September 8 in the CCHS Sullivan Center. Social hour begins at 4:30 p.m. with dinner at 5:30 and the induction program at 7:00. This year’s inductees include Larry Fuller (Class of 1983), a jazz pianist with the John Pizzarelli Quartet who has toured internationally and appeared on Conan, and Todd Fournier (Class of 1983), a singer currently touring with Franki Valli and the Four Seasons.
Other inductees this year include:
Barbara (Krall) Mayer, Class of 1950 – one of the first hosts of morning television on WSPD who went on to have her own local television program called Supper Show
Jim Kasprzak, Class of 1965 – the principal trumpet in the Lansing Concert Band, the director and lead trumpet in the Lansing Concert Band Big Band, the principal solo cornet in the Capital City Brass Band, and the lead trumpet in the Barons of Brass, a brass quintet
Lori (Lewandowski) Kotaich, Class of 1967 – member of the Central Catholic orchestra and Glee Club, music teacher and director of several music organizations
Judy (Schnapp) Jaworski, Class of 1967 – music teacher for 20 years in the Catholic Diocese of Toledo and has taught band, choir, general music, and guitar classes for eight years in the Arizona Public School system
Jill Bonczek, Class of 1983 – a member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago for 19 years who has sung with Placido Domingo, Mirella Freni, and Eva Marton
Kevin Shope – CCHS band director from 1991 to 1997, currently performing with the Toledo Jazz Orchestra and Ragtime Rick and the Chefs of Dixieland
