Vintage Rock and Roll Concert & Classic Car Show scheduled to raise funds for African medical mission
A “vintage” rock and roll concert and classic car show are scheduled Sunday September 23rd to raise funds for an African medical mission charity. Phil Dirt and the Dozers will play from 6pm to 9pm at Centennial Terrace, 5773 Centennial Road, Sylvania, Ohio. A classic car show at Centennial Terrace beginning at 3pm that day precedes the concert.
Proceeds from the event will go toward expenses for the Tumaini Medical Mission. The Tumaini Medical Mission will send doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses and other medical professionals from NW Ohio to the Dodoma area of Tanzania (East Africa). The medical professionals will treat villagers in two remote villages, and train local African health care workers. The mission is scheduled for November 4th through the 14th, 2012.
The Tumaini Medical Mission is organized by 3 Lutheran churches in the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. People wishing to donate to the Tumaini Medical Mission may contact Zion Lutheran Church in Waterville, Ohio by calling (419) 878-0266 .
