Blues-inspired short film “True Delta” will be shown free to the public at Maumee Valley Country Day School on Friday, September 28, 2012 in the Millennium Theatre at 6:00pm, to kick off the school’s annual Homecoming celebrations. “True Delta” takes the audience into the colorful, soulful and wonderful world of Mississippi Delta Blues. It highlights the impact the Blues has made on the religious, economic, and cultural life of the region and offers compelling interviews from Delta natives, as well as Blues musicians and singers from the ages of 10 to 90. An audience Q&A led by filmmaker and Maumee Valley alumnus, Erickson Blakney ’83, with film writer Dr. Lee Quinby and blues musician Bill Howl-N-Madd Perry (who appears in the film), will follow the film premiere.

Our featured guests include alumni from the reunion class years of 1962, 1972 and 1992, along with blues legend, Bill Howl-N-Madd Perry who will be performing live for the party.
