TOLEDO, OH – ADJ-ective New Music, LLC will present an evening concert at Monroe St. United Methodist Church on September 27, 2012 at 8:00 PM in the sanctuary. Musicians from the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, the Michigan Philharmonic Orchestra, Bowling Green State University, and the University of Michigan will collaborate to perform a program featuring contemporary brass chamber music.
The concert will highlight short fanfares for both woodwind and brass instruments written by some of the 20th-century’s most compelling composers including Igor Stravinsky, György Ligeti, and Benjamin Britten. The program will also include a performance of local composer Jamie Leigh Sampson’s solo bassoon piece, Frozen Landscape, and the Luciano Berio’s solo saxophone work Sequenza IXb.
Composers Jamie Leigh Sampson and Andrew Martin Smith founded ADJ•ective New Music, LLC in 2010.
