Cabaret Series features Elvis, Big Band & Swing Music

This October, Lourdes University’s Cabaret Series, hosted by the Franciscan Center, opens with a night of swing music. The following groups will perform as part of the 2012-2013 season:

Friday, October 12 – Swingmania aka The Jeff MacDonald Band
Come hear the sounds of this dedicated group of talented Toledo area musicians whose goal is to entertain the widest possible audience whether they’re accustomed to the “Big Band Swing Sound” or not. From Benny Goodman’s “Sing Sing Sing” to Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York”, this band has all the tunes that guests will love. Swingmania’s musical library, which is the largest in this area, consists of over 2000 arrangements. Sample the sounds of Swingmania online at http://www.swingmania.org.

Friday, November 2 – Candice Coleman (of American Idol) & Chris Brown
Take an evening stroll with vocalists Chris Brown and Candice Coleman. Chris Brown, an accomplished pianist and vocalist, and Candice Coleman, a vocalist and rhythm guitarist, have been playing Toledo and the surrounding area for several years. This dynamic duo will entertain audience members with standards, blues tunes, ballads, and a little bit of everything in between. Find more on Candice and Chris online at www.ccacb.com

Friday, February 16 – Eternally Elvis starring Caesare Belvano
Friday, March 15 – Night Session (Big Band)
Friday, April 12 – Raq the Casbah! with an opening act from Elixer

Tickets for each performance are $10 in advance or $12 the day of the show – or purchase tickets for the entire series for $40. All shows begin at 8 p.m. To purchase tickets call 419-824-3999.
