Art Reception & Poetry Reading @ Maumee Branch Library

Maumee Branch Library, 501 River Road in Maumee, is the location of a “ PRIZM Perspectives” Art and Literature display by members of the local non-profit for the arts, PRIZM Creative Community. Featured in the gallery and foyer showcase are 2 and 3-D works of art, and literature. Some of the pieces were created as part of PRIZM’s 2012 Creative Challenge, in which artists and authors created works to illustrate the term “BEST DAY EVER.” Participants were free to interpret the challenge in any way and use any genre, medium or technique they desired. The display of 98 pieces of mini and regular size literature along with Art, Glass, Ceramics, Jewelry, photography and fine art will be on display through noon Thursday Nov. the 15th during regular library hours.

A special reception to meet PRIZM artists and authors and enjoy a 1 hour poetry reading will be held Monday Oct the 22nd, from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the Maumee Branch Library on 501 River Road. Poetry reading will be held from 6:30- 7:30 with refreshments immediately following.

PRIZM Creative Community is a 501 c. 3 nonprofit organization for education, service, and collaboration in the literary and visual arts. PRIZM has been supported by The Ohio Arts Council, The Toledo Community Foundation, Buckeye CableSystem, Buckeye TeleSystem and many public and private sources.
